German SVMI partner ifa Akademie was invited to participate in EPALE’s conference on Open Educational Resources (OER) in European projects. The one-day meeting took place April 5th, 2019 in Bonn at the premises of the German National Agency. Key educational experts presented ways how to create OERs. In addition, legal and technical aspects were discussed. In the plenary, participant discussed how to reach out to various and diverse target groups with OER materials. In four workshops, there was focus on software tools for OERs, samples of good practice, digital collaboration and co-creation and practical exercises.
ifa Akademie presented first outcomes of the SVMI project and gave an outlook on the project app, which is currently developed. Contacts were established with two organizations working in the field of volunteering for senior citizens and OER materials used for seniors. Another organization working with migrants contributed with their experience on senior volunteers as mentors for migrant youth. Special interest was on the SVMI training program for seniors and new models on how to introduce seniors to methods of adult education and working with migrant adults as a volunteer.
