SVMI Final International Conference and partner meeting were organised in Vilnius, Lithuania

The final international conference 'People to People - Promoting Diversity and Voluntarism‘ to present the project, its products and results to the beneficiaries was organized in Vilnius, Lithuania on 12 September  2019. The representatives from different senior organizations, adult education institutions, local authorities, NGOs working with migrants and volunteering organisations participated in the event.

The conference was opened with the welcoming words from Daiva Malinauskiene, Soros International House director, the project coordinator, Edita Trečiokienė, a representative of the Education Exchange Support Foundation, and Zita Žebrauskienė, Rector of MCTAU.

The key speaker Martin Kilgus as well as Gisela Kullmer delivered the presentations on history of volunteering in Europe, presented statistics about voluntarism and shared good practices in Germany. The participants were introduced to the main intellectual outputs of the project – Social and civic integration tool - guide for migrants and refugees and the training programme for senior volunteers as well as other important results of the project by Gileta Kieriene. During 2 paralel workshops, moderated by Arūnė Taunytė and Arūnas Bėkšta, the participants were given an opportunity to learn more about volunteering and active citizenship.

The conference was summarised by Arūnas Bėkšta – the International Expert of Adult Education, representative of LAAE. The conference, moderated by Irena Navickiene, was a great success and the feedback was really good.

On 13th September 2019, during partner meeting representatives of partner institutions from Lithuania, Germany, France, Finland and Greece reviewed the project progress and results, planned the upcoming final activities.

After the events the partners summarized the achievements and defined the steps leading to the sustainability of the project results.
